Classification by gate structure: They can be divided into wedge gate valves and parallel gate valves. Wedge gate valves have three structures: single gate, double gate, and elastic gate. They are suitable for medium and high-pressure pipelines; parallel gate valves have gate plates that are parallel and tightly sealed with the valve seat. They are suitable for low-pressure, large-diameter pipelines.
Classification by stem structure: They can be divided into outside stem gate valves and inside stem gate valves. Outside stem gate valves have stems that rise and fall with the gate plate. The stem has a trapezoidal thread. Through the nut at the top of the valve and the guide groove on the valve body, the rotary motion is converted into linear motion. They are suitable for occasions where it is necessary to visually observe the movement of the stem; inside stem gate valves have a stem nut located on the gate plate. The handwheel rotates to drive the stem to rotate, thus lifting the gate plate. They are suitable for occasions with limited space where it is inconvenient to observe the movement of the stem.
Classification by shell/body material: They can be divided into metal valves, such as carbon steel valves, alloy steel valves, and stainless steel valves; metal valves with lining, such as rubber-lined valves and fluoroplastic-lined valves; and non-metal valves, such as ceramic valves, glass valves, and plastic valves.
